Purpose of the Job (Job Summary):
The Manager People Relations is required support the Head: People Experience in the delivery of the country strategic objectives as well as the managing of day to day operations, proving support and guidance for the banking and micro lending environment. The incumbent is expected to provide Employee Relations services to Letshego Holdings Namibia, by ensuring consistent procedural and substantive fairness is disciplinary enquiries, investigations and grievance procedures, while following privacy regulations and maintaining confidentiality as required.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Strategic Operations Management Focus/Delivering Operational Efficiency
• Develop and implement employee relations policies and procedures aligned with strategy and ensure that these are available to all employees
• Planning and preparing a position for Letshego Holdings Namibia in preparation for the annual wage negotiations to ensure that wage negotiations are concluded within budget and set timeframes.
• Counsel and advice managers in interpreting and applying policies and procedures to resolve issues related to recruitment, compensation, disciplinary action and conflict resolution.
• Monitor the effectiveness all Letshego Holdings Namibia’s bargaining agreements, behaviours and practices between the company and Union for internal decision making.
• Ensures that labour disputes and grievances are minimised by developing and maintaining effective procedures and ensuring adequate communications between management and employees.
2. Risk Management and Compliance
• Provide direct output support to the Head: People Experience in identifying and prioritizing of all employee relations related risks and liabilities.
• Ensure compliance to legislative requirements, as amended or introduced by Government pertaining to labour relations.
• Handle disputes in accordance with Recognition and Procedural Agreement (RPA), Policies and Namibian Labour Laws.
• Ensure compliance and submission of the Affirmative Action report on an annual basis
• To present Letshego Holdings Namibia at consultation, negotiation and dispute resolution forums
• Monitors industrial relation indicators e.g. number of disputes, grievances and recommends corrective action.
• Analyse employee relation trends, provide periodic detailed reports and propose methods to improve problematic trends after careful research.
• To provide specialist advice and educate management on all significant changes in Labour legislation
• Develop and ensure effective provision of in-house Labour Relations training to identified employees.
3. People Management:
• Demonstrated ability to promote and work in a team atmosphere, be inclusive of all team members, and work well with co-workers & leadership.
• Influence colleagues to achieve departmental goals in accordance with set strategy.
• Seek opportunities to learn and improve personal effectiveness as a Manager.
• Ensure that all performance reviews are held as per the agreed deadlines.

Knowledge and Experience Required of Job Holder:
• Namibian Citizen/Permanent Resident with Grade 12 and 25 points.
• University degree in Human Resources/Industrial Relations or equivalent professional qualification in Employee Relations from an accredited university.
• At least 5 (five) years practical experience in a Human Resources Generalist environment of which 5 (five) should be in the Labour/Industrial Relations field.
• Strong Employee relations experience and proven solutions.
• Thorough understanding and application of the Namibian Labour Act and related employment Acts.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and excellent administration skills
• Valid drivers’ licence
• Willingness to travel nationally
• Demonstrate a good level of ability in English and any other Namibian language
