COMPLIANCE MANAGER

A job vacancy has arisen within the Risk & Compliance Department of Letshego Bank Namibia for the above-mentioned position, the details of the role are outlined below:
 
Purpose of the Job:
To protect LGN against any statutory and regulatory non-compliance money by facilitating and implementing the administration of applicable legislation and policies and training personnel in the Letshego Namibia group to comply with legal requirements.
 
Key Accountabilities:
1. Manage and monitor all Compliance related expenditure.
2. Build and maintain healthy relationships with all stakeholders I.e. BoN, Namfisa, NSX and other Banks.
3. Establish mechanisms to avert and/ or minimize impact of penalties.
4. Effective identification of Compliance risk areas to enable reduction of risks or potential risks
5. Assist in the customizing, implementation and maintenance of the ERMF and CF.
6. Ensure accurate, timeous and complete Risk event or loss reporting and resolution.
7. Ensure management take prompt action to rectify or to ensure rectification of risk incidents/losses.
8. Create awareness and knowledge on Compliance
9. Identify and discuss development gaps with individuals
10. Conduct performance management meetings with appropriate action implemented and reward/reinforce accordingly.
11. Continuous research and self-development to support common goal plus knowledge sharing at Cluster level
12. Act as custodian of compliance (knowledge and expertise) for the Division to advice management
13. Obtain commitment from management to resolve issues of non-compliance
14. Advice, consult and provide effective recommendations to line management on compliance breaches
15. Set standard for policies and procedures, review and implementation and adherence.
16. Report non-compliance to management and facilitate resolutions thereof.
17. Update and keep of register of non-compliance issues

18. Identify, appoint, develop and coordinate functions of compliance champion’s, primary contact, senior management and regional management and all staff members.
19. Obtain relevant feedback via Compliance reports I.e. Monthly reports/senior management reports, risk event reports; and Ad hoc reports
20. Provide independent Compliance reports.
21. Install the Compliance culture and quality philosophy
22. Conduct independent compliance monitoring
23. Develop networks and relationships with all key stakeholders i.e. Senior and Regional managers; Group Compliance and Internal Audit
24. Manage junior compliance staff and attend to all employee wellness and HR related matters of employees.
 
Knowledge and Experience Required of Job Holder:
1. Grade 12, (25 points).
2. A Law Degree or equivalent qualifications/job related experience is essential;
3. A Law or Accounting Degree and a post graduate Diploma in Compliance Risk Management will be preferable;
